Please use the tools and links on this page to allow you to find answers to questions pertaining to instructions and rules for both the Warm up & Showcase events. This will hopefully limit the need to e-mail and call to find out specific answers.

Spring Cup 2021 Rules
1. Why is an EVENT roster important and how do I create one?
Creating an EVENT roster in GotSoccer will allow team managers to remove non-participating players and add guest players to the event application. This will ensure player information is correct on the printed game cards and tournament related information. This is also important for high school players who may have college coaches following their participation. To create an event roster, begin by navigating to the event application from your team GotSoccer account. Once in the event application, navigate to the roster tab. You should see a drop down option to select the roster you would like to use for the event. Use the drop down to select "event roster" then enter your player information. You should be able to select players from your official league roster and add guest players if you have them. Most organizations lock out default or league rosters so it is important to create an event roster if you intend to use guest players.
2. Can my team play up an age?
Yes. Simply register them normally and then request that you wish to play up an age during the registration process when prompted.
3. Can I register my team after the deadline?
Yes but it's not recommended. The registration link will remain open to accept teams but teams that register after the deadline may not be accepted into the event. The tournament director will review late registrations but may wait list teams depending on several factors--including late registration. For this reason it is best to register as early as possible. Wait listed teams will not be charged a registration fee unless they are accepted into the tournament. It is not uncommon for a team to drop a week or two prior to the tournament. If this happens, the director will look first to the wait listed teams for a possible replacement team.
4. When will I know if my team has been accepted?
Teams are accepted once the team registration fee has been received and processed. For some tournaments and age groups, the tournament committee may delay acceptance depending on several factors to include competition level and number of teams who have applied. An e-mail will be sent to team contacts, managers and coaches once acceptance has been granted. We also have a link of accepted teams on the home page.
5. Can my team commute or stay with friends/family?
This is a stay and play event. Teams travelling in to play from over 50 miles away MUST utilize our preferred hotels through our travel partner Got Ya Covered. Please click on the hotel & reservation tab at the top of the page for more details.

6. Can I pay for my team registration online?
Yes. For the 2021 events we will only accept credit or debit cards & e-check payments. However, NO credit/debit cards will be processed until a team is accepted. There is a 5% surcharge on all credit card payments only; GotSoccer will NOT charge your card immediately or process your e-check payment. GotSoccer simply securely retains your information so that the tournament director can run the transaction once the team is accepted into the event. Should for any reason your payment be declined or not honored the team will have 5 days from the date of event acceptance to submit appropriate payment. If for any reason the team has not paid 5 days after being accepted the team will be withdrawn from participation and a new team will be selected to participate.
7. Can I check in my team online?
Yes, all teams MUST check in online for all 3 events; there will be no onsite check in. It is simple and convenient to do. Please click on the check in tab at the top of this page to access the "Team Check" in page, details and needs.
8. Do team managers need to provide game cards and who reports the scores?
The game referee will provide each game card for each game. Both teams must verify & sign the card after each game and winning coach/manager must 1st call the score in to the GotsSoccer score line and then 2nd, turn in the game card to any HQ tent. In the event a game is a draw, the home coach/manager must record the score and turn in the card. All scores are verified by tournament officials. Review the tournament rules link provided at the top of this page for additional information on how to call in scores
9. Can a player participate in the tournament if he/she is wearing a hardcast?
This is at the referees discretion and may change from game to game. Under no circumstances will players with hard casts be permitted to play if no protection is applied. Review the tournament rules document for further information.
10. What color does the home team wear?
The home team will wear their darker uniforms and away teams lighter uniforms. In the event of a conflict, the away team will need to change. The game referee will determine if a conflict occurs.
11. What happens in case of injury?
Each play site will have an athletic trainer on site that can aid and assist all injuries. If in need of assistance, please contact the play site HQ and they can dispatch a trainer to the field required.
12. Will there be placements, finals and/or trophies handed out?
Both the Showcase and Warm up events do not have finalists, advancements or trophies for standings. You will play the amount of games in which your team has registered for and then done. Scores are reported for GotSoccer points and standings. There is advancements in the 5v5 Festival and awards will be handed out to finalists and winners of each group. For groups of 5 teams a round robin format (4 games and done) will be implemented, with the finalists and winners being awarded trophies based on points.
13. How do I get score updates and important tournament information?
We will not have on site score boards and all scores are inputted and updated in real time and can be accessed through this website at anytime. Tournament staff also use standard GotSoccer messaging as a valuable communication source. For this reason, it is very important that team manager and coach information is accurate in the tournament application information. For most communication, information is shared with managers and coaches with the intent that these team contacts will share the information with parents and players. In some cases, the tournament director may send messages through GotSoccer to all contact information associated with the teams. In case of inclement weather the tournament website, Twitter & the GotSoccer messaging service will be used to notify all teams.
14. Who should I contact if I've lost (or found) something at the tournament?
Visit the headquarters tent at the location where you lost (or found) the item. If after the event, e-mail the Tournament Director at tournaments@albionhurricanes.org
